The U.S Foreign Commercial Service (FCS), officially opened its offices in Mozambique in June 2015. FCS is a unit of the U.S Department of Commerce International Trade Administration with a primary goal to promote trade and investment and ensure fair trade and compliance. The agency officially advocates on behalf of U.S. investors, addresses trade barriers, lobbies the Government of Mozambique on challenges identified by investors, assists with leveling the playing field for U.S. manufacturers and service providers, supports the development of business deals, negotiates new trade agreements, and assists American companies with market entry and expansion in Mozambique to help achieve its goals which are directly related to economic security and investment promotion.
FCS supports U.S. companies in multiple industries including oil and gas, agribusiness, health, transportation, mining among others. In 2019, FCS is considerably focused on opportunities in energy, infrastructure, marine technology and distribution and logistics.
