Location: Maputo Province
Event: Media outlets and social media platforms report calls for public gatherings to protest municipal election results throughout the province of Maputo on Friday, October 27. Due to uncertainty, the U.S. Embassy has maximized telework and minimized movements in Maputo on the 27th.
Actions To Take:
Avoid large crowds.
Be aware of your surroundings.
Maintain a low profile.
Carry proper identification.
Review your personal security plans.
Keep your cell phone charged in case of emergency.
Monitor local media for updates and factor updated information into your travel plans and activities.
