PEPFAR present at the 24th International AIDS Conference

The 24th International AIDS Conference kicks off this Friday (July 29) in Montreal, Canada, with the theme “getting back involved and following the science.” This year’s edition will call for the world to come together to re-engage and follow science. It will set future research agendas, move the latest evidence into action, and chart a new consensus on overcoming the HIV epidemic as a threat to public health and individual well-being.

PEPFAR will be represented at the event at the highest level by the US Global AIDS Coordinator, Dr. John Nkengasong, who will be one of the speakers at the event. A PEPFAR delegation composed of members of the PEPFAR Coordinating Office, as well as PEPFAR agencies, namely USAID, CDC, DoD and Peace Corps, will also be present at the conference.

In the wake of the event, the Global AIDS Village 2022 will take place – a diverse and vibrant space where communities from around the world come together virtually to connect, share and learn from each other. A mix of speaker sessions and cultural activities, the Global Village is also a hub for attending live performances, extending networks, and touring market booths and art exhibits. The program is created from public applications from a wide range of individuals, groups, and organizations.

Access to the Global AIDS Village 2022 is free.
