Notice regarding Scam using USAID’s Name

February 9, 2018 – USAID has recently been notified of an ongoing SCAM using USAID’s name and logo to defraud individuals seeking jobs and individuals and firms providing equipment and services. The scam is completely false and has no connection to USAID or the U.S. Government.  The scammer is trying to trick individuals and businesses into providing goods and services with promises of future payments.  Please note that USAID and the U.S. Government have not authorized any of the contracts signed by the so-called PPE – Programa de Pesquisa e Extensão.  This is a fake project with the objective to defraud.

USAID and the U.S. government regret that unscrupulous individuals are using USAID’s name and logo to defraud their fellow citizens.  If you have been affected by this scam, USAID recommends you report it to local authorities.
