REGISTER & SELECT A SEAT FOR TESTING

U.S. Citizens who are interested in taking the Foreign Service Officer Test should visit www.pearsonvue.com/fsot to get information on the exam, register for the test and select a seat. The website also has information on many different career opportunities with the Department of State.

Applicants will start by filling out a registration package that consists of an application form and a set of personal narrative questions that, taken together, provide information about your experience and qualifications.

Applicants will need approximately three hours to complete the registration package.

There is a $5 sitting fee for the FSOT. This fee is fully refunded to the candidate one to three weeks after the testing event. However, should a candidate fail to appear for the FSOT and/or not cancel a previously-scheduled appointment 48 hours prior to the appointment, the candidate will be assessed a $72 no-show fee. **IMPORTANT DEADLINE

For the February 2017 FSOT the registration period opens on August 23, 2017 and closes on September 27, 2017.

Testing will be held at the on October 5, 2017 at 2:00 pm and October 6, 2017 at 8:00 am at Complexo JAT 3, Rua 1231 No. 41, Maputo, Mozambique.

The FSOT is offered at both domestic and overseas locations in February, June, and October each year.
