PRESS RELEASE

Embassy Statement on the Occasion of Eid Al-Fitr

June 16, 2018 – As we mark the end of Ramadan, the U.S. Embassy extends its best wishes to the Muslim people of Mozambique as they celebrate the special occasion of Eid al-Fitr.

We hope the season of Ramadan has brought moments of calm reflection and invaluable time with family and neighbors.  Like many others around the world, Muslims in the United States will come together for Eid festivities according to their deep and varied traditions, celebrating the shared values of human dignity, community, and charity.

We recognize the importance of cooperation with Muslim communities around the world, many of whom are important interlocutors on issues central to U.S. foreign policy, including promoting economic prosperity, providing humanitarian assistance, and safeguarding religious freedom for all.

On behalf of the people of the United States, and the staff of the U.S. Mission to Mozambique, Eid Mubarak!
