Earth Networks PPP Agreement Signing with INAM
This partnership will provide an important tool in helping the country address both the good and the bad weather has to offer. It will benefit Mozambican citizens and, quite possibly, save lives.

The US has long been a friend and partner to Mozambique in areas from health to education to energy.  The signing of this Memorandum is further evidence of the growing investment ties between our two countries.   We are excited about this new partnership and expect to see more of them in the future.

This new partnership benefits not only a great US company, but will significantly improve Mozambique’s meteorological services readiness and responsiveness.   As Mozambique well knows, the weather brings benefits and challenges.  This partnership will provide an important tool in helping the country address both the good and the bad weather has to offer.

Through this partnership Mozambique the Instituto Nacional de Meteorologia de Moçambique will be able to provide up to date weather data to key and growing industries here that depend on accurate weather information to make critical business decisions.  It will benefit Mozambican citizens and, quite possibly, save lives.

The U.S. is committed to deepen our public and private partnerships across Africa, and especially in Mozambique.  It is no coincidence that President Felipe Nyusi was the first African President that US Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross met after assuming his position last year.

This partnership will provide an important tool in helping the country address both the good and the bad weather has to offer. It will benefit Mozambican citizens and, quite possibly, save lives.

American companies have a proven track record in successfully getting large and complex, soft and hard infrastructure projects off the ground throughout the world. They can provide high quality products and services, as well as offer worldwide recognized branding, know-how, and long-term commitment.  We are happy when we see US companies chosen for these important projects because we know they can deliver and we know they will do a job you can count on.

Which is why I am so proud of the diligent and continuous assistance the U.S. through our commercial service has provided to Earth Networks as it worked towards securing a partnership with INAM.

We will continue to look for opportunities here for American companies and we challenge the government of Mozambique to continue to create the type of business environment that will attract those businesses that will contribute to your growing economy. We know American companies are ready.

Thank you and, again, congratulations Earth Networks and INAM and best of luck for a productive and successful partnership.
